CPS-3 sound issue?
Posted by ziggymac100 on 28 December 2008 at 12:58
Yeah..what sound issue?....seems fine to me. Played SF3 3rd Strike (and the other CPS3 games) loads and not heard any obvious problems. Thanks for the update, but dont think i'll bother with this one as i am quite frankly sick and tired of all the ROM updates that MAME keeps imposing on Neo Geo and Capcom sets, than for no other reason than obscure internal reasons. The games work....so leave them alone and move onto something else!!!!!.

Swaped audio channels for sfx sounds...stand in the left corner and hit any button the kick or shout sfx will be heard in the right speaker. I tested in mame and there is ok.

Winamp track remapping will be a great feature...

nice work barry, thanks a million. This has got to be the default emu for cps3 by now, was having sound issues but they seemed to have cleared up. Still just one issue im having, launching a game from command line, i cant seem to make it go auto fullscreen, either by checking the menu option or messing with the ini. Is there any option i have to add to the command line to make it go full? eg "D:\Emulation\FBA\fba.exe sfiii3an -f" Cheers for any assistants

FBA automatically switches to fullscreen when launched from the command line. "fba.exe sfa3" will start Street Fighter Alpha 3 in fullscreen.

Barry, can you answer my question?
Posted by msbhvn on 31 December 2008 at 20:43
To everyone complaining about rom changes: Constant whining, especially here, is not going to convince the MAME team to change their minds. Join a site such as retroroms.net, don't worry, it's free, and you can download only the parts of the rom that have changed. Then it's only a matter of rebuilding the zip file for that game. Of course, if that's too much trouble, just use the older version and stop making negative and/or abusive posts when it isn't Barry's fault.

Sorry Barry, still cant get it to launch full screen no matter what i try :(
Posted by Volumetric on 1 January 2009 at 01:00
ok figured it out, if you select the 'auto switch' option from the drop down menu, FBA no longer launches full screen from the command line, once i reinstalled and tried, it worked fine :)

Noticed 1 more bug, not sure if it might be specific to my system, but analog rap around seems to be occurring with any game i try and use my logitech dual analog with (aburner / supermonaco etc..) pushing the stick fully to the right results in a left turn at the very end of the sticks range. Anyone else have this problem?
Posted by CaptainCPS-X on 7 January 2009 at 06:51
@Volumetric: Yeah I have noticed it with my Logitech Cordless RumblePad 2, and various users too, but Barry can't verify this issue because he doesn't have an joystick with analog controls. SeeYaa! ^^

cheers captainCPS-X, bummer though, afterburner looks and runs so much sweeter under FBA as opposed to mame.

Only thought i'd bring this up due to a comment posted early regarding peoples complaints about rom changes. Im guessing most of the complaints are related to the ever changing neo geo bios? if so then go to emuasylum, they have updated their mame roms to 128. Already checked the neo geo bios, seems to work fine.

Can anyone confirm if there's a 1-frame delay with this FBA version? It's weird, since I play Garou and I practice combos offline and I can't be certain if I notice input delay, but it feels like it's there. Plus, what I can do in this version of FBA, I can't do in FBA Shuffle - I assume one version has some kind of delay and that I got used to it or one has more than the other. GGPO uses an FBA version ending with .74 and there was an update to fix a 1-frame delay bug, so does that still exist in this version? Thanks.

After lot of debugging I was able to make a fix for the Analog stick issues, at least After Burner have it working now, I have to fix the Throttle as well because its going out of range. When I finish with this I will apply this fix to other SEGA games that need it for analog controls. In other news, we finally fixed the CPS3 Inverted sound channels issue, this could be noticed when the game was configured at the diagnostic panel to use external sound mode. Take Care! SeeYaa! ^^

Seemingly I am the only with this problem, but when I click "load game" the application crashes. Tried on both Vista x64 and XP x86. Must be a configuration error I imagine. If I load a game from commandline however, everything works fine. Everything else works fine also, if I select a game from the "most recently played" list everything works fine also. The application only crashes when it wants to load the "Load game" list.

@apronk: thats an odd one, did you mess around with the config either in the menus or ini file? Not sure what you could have done to cause that. Have you tried re-installing?
